Only from hell?

I've generally been spared *really* nasty illnesses, but this one is the
longest lasting and most *painful* bout I've ever exprienced. The only
compensation of this late phase sore throat (third iteration) is that
although it hurts all the way down, and everything including water
tastes absolutely foul, like Chilli and iron filings, I can actually
manage to sleep. Which is the first time for a week and a half...

I've been a shit and a grump right across Christmas; I couldn't do
anything about it, but I really do hate myself right now.
