Well Lynx wasn't too hot. Many mobile phones can't, hence the decision to
change to list and CSS for the layout so the site could be quickly switched
to being WAP accessible.

You don't need to buy new hardware or software to use IE 5.1.7 It'll render
websites more accurately, enabling you to use a greater proportion of the
web.

Of course. But most people do find websites that use pretty pictures and
layouts more attractive and hence more successful commercially. If your
criteria for a good web site is the above, then I suggest Lynx. A text only
web browser. You'll love it!
Failing that, why don't you use IE? If its because it has Microsoft in the
name... Well that's plain daft.

XHTML and CSS have nothing to do with Microsoft. They are attempts to stop
Microsoft for introducing stupid Windows only extensions to the web.
