Beige G3 OS X 10.2 problems.

Hi,
My beige G3 (G3/400, 512mb ram, PCI Radeon 7000, USB PCI card), crashed
on me when trying to restart.
Since then it won't boot, the boot volume has become currupted and Disk
Utility doens't seem able to fix it. I can't even do a 'archive and install'
from the Installer disk.
Currently I'm doing a fresh install onto a seperate hard drive. Are there any
freeware tools that could fix the problem when I have OS X on the new
(smaller) hard drive and allow me to continue to use the system as I had
it set up just right pretty much.
I am aware of software like DiskWarrior, etc, butI cannot afford to pay Â$80
for it.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
In an ideal world I'd of upgraded the beige G3 to a newer model, but
I just don't have the funds to do so.
Regards,
Kelly
