You'll be lucky. a lot of of the 'tradional' components are
disappearing from every stockist, RS and Farnell included. You can't
even buy tagboards for making simple demonstration circuits.

As for good quality tools, have you tried to buy any recently? Even
respected brand names turn out to be just re-badged rubbish.

The electronics industry has gone from this country and the component
and tool suppliers have gone with it. Until recently there have been
enough goods in the pipeline for the signs of it to be ignored - but the
stocks have now run out and no-one is left making them.
