The simple answer is that it's a good idea, one of the things that makes
Macs more secure than some other boxes, and you really shouldn't prevent
it. Much better simply to remember the password or have it written down
nearby in big friendly letters.

I believe that you can run as the root user. This will make you as
insecure as last year's Windows user. Others here can tell you about how
to do it- I've never tried, or even considered it.
