Sorry, but while this does, technically, do what the OP wants, it
won't help him. There are lots of places in the OS where the name
of the home folder is stored and changing just one or two of them
(even including the one in NetInfo) doesn't help.
The only really safe way to do this is to create a new account with
the correct short name and copy everything across.
