I've been with Wandaoo for a year now, and have been very impressed with
it so far, not one cause to call support. I was with PlusNet before
that, and need to contact them monthly as one or another of their
servers failed.

A tad low, I'm getting about 250k here, but that's on a wired network.

I would have thought so. Which side of the router though? You use DHCP
between you and the ISP, which they will control the length of lease
normally a day or two. You then usually setup DHCP between the router
and the desktop. I say usually on the second part because that would be
the simplest setup. There's nothing to stop you using a fixed IP setup
on the internal network.
