Wanadoo (semi) sucks

Well, it took them a month to move me over from isdn to broadband! Most
of the people I talked to at the start, both 'customer services' and
'technical support' had obviously never heard of isdn. On only one
occasion did I have the good fortune to get through to someone who knew
what he was talking about, he even said he'd phone me back, but then
didn't. (Mostly I got 'we don't support macs'; 'we don't support
third-party routers'.) The usb modem wouldn't even install properly...
I say *semi*-sucks because in the end they refunded me my first month's
billing without quibble. Well, that is, after I'd already sent them a
written letter of complaint and told them I'd reported them to Ofcom.
(Which I did actually; their guy was very helpful, said more or less
straight away I should have just gone to another isp. Coulda... wanted
to keep existing email...)
Sorry, ranting boringly now. Questions;
It looks like I'm getting download speeds of 230 KB/s; does that sound
right?
The Buffalo wireless router; now it's finally connected, should I just
leave it on 24/7 for the next couple of years, like I did with the old
Quadra which used to route my isdn connection?
In the router setup page, under DHCP, there was a setting for leases to
expire after 24 hours. Is that ok? I would have thought that should have
been 'never'?
I turned on WPA for the wireless side, changed the passwords on all
three accounts on the router, the firewall says it is on, and it's using
NAT. Enough 'security'?
