Long(est) battery life notebook?

Hi All,

With a 15" screen, how long have been to squeze out of notebook?

Most models seem to go around 3 hours of use per battery charge. Has
anyone found better than that?

Alternativelly, other than finding a mains plug, or a car
cigarete-lighter plug, have you found an alternative source of power
for a notebook?
