Re: Acer Aspire 5633WLMI Continuous Beeps at Acer logo

On Tue, 25 Mar 2008 14:16:00 -0000, I waved a wand and this message
magically appears in front of Nick Le Lievre:

Thanks for the info. I went into the BIOS yesterday and saved the DVD
drive as the primary boot device, when I went in just now to save the
memory configuration I noticed the DVD drive wasn't the primary boot
device anymore, so its looks like the BIOS has reset itself, maybe
that *is* why I`m getting the beeps sometimes. Also 2 months ago
around the time it first happened the BIOS lost its time and date
settings and I had to reenter them.

It's either the CMOS battery or its NVRAM that's gone bad - get it
replaced under warranty. BIOS settings can only be lost through either
a) bad or flat battery, b) faulty non-volatile memory.
