I'm not a fan of the USB ones. I prefer to leave the PC card ones where
you can leave the card in place when putting it in a bag. I purchased
one of the Tesco ones for one of my Laptops ( A Dell), I think I paid
something like £19.99, it's actually a Belkin card and it works fine.
How's the coverage? My Netgear juts out a little so the antena is not
shielded by the PC case. If you Belkin is totally enclosed, I would have
expected the range to be poor.

No the aerial sticks out about 1/2 an inch or so. It works fine. Worls
well in public places as well using wifi hot spots.
Ah, just like mine then. My laptop case has less "wiggle room" so I pop my
wi-fi card out before packing to avoid possibly damaging the antenna if the
case gets knocked.
