Hi,
A friend is looking to buy a laptop and asked me for advice.
Unfortunately, I know almost nothing about laptops so maybe someone
here might be able to help.
Essentials...:
PC based (ie not Apple)
Running Windows XP or later
USB ports (at least 2)
Serial port
A touch pad controller (as opposed to a little 'stick' controller -
which can be quite slow and fiddly to use)
As light as possible - a sub-notebook rather than a laptop would be
ideal (I mean a thin, slightly smaller and lighter style of laptop,
rather than a mini machine of the size of the old Psions).
Rugged/all environment opperation
New enough for us to obtain a second battery for
Would be nice...:
Recordable CD/DVD drive
built-in Bluetooth
Very long battery life
Any recommendations?
Any models/makes to avoid?
Thanks!
Kit
I use a lightweight Dell laptop for work which is quite good. Take a look on
their website.
