Hi

I bought a secondhand Atlas Flyer 3400 by Hi-Grade which had a fault.
I was told that it was, 'Flushed out with a bad bios.'

It will enter the Bios screen, and I can change settings OK

but when I try booting it stops at SDRAM at DIMM # 1

See Picture http://freespace.virgin.net/peter.trudgeon/Laptop
Fault.jpg

It will not boot to Floppy, DVD/CD or Hard Drive/ although these are
recognised in the Bios setting.

Any advice would be appreciated as I have never taken a Laptop to
pieces. I have built PC's so know a little. Would shorting the bios
chip out for example be any use? And how could I do this?

Thank you in advance,

Peter

You could try flushing it out with a "good bios", presumably from the
Hi-Garde website.
