My Inspiron has 1024MB (again I added the extra RAM as my old laptop had
1024MB and I didn't want to go lower than that due to the tasks I use the
system for) Mine is commonly used for video editing and recording video in
DV format etc. It is also used for intense applictions like rendering
transitions etc in video content. The Dell handles these tasks very well
indeed.
CPU speed is 1.6GHz.
Just for the record, this one cost me £814 with all the extras, ie 1600
widescreen display, 1024MB DDR2 RAM, 60GB HDD, WiFi module, Bluetooth
module, DVD+-RW, plus the extra second battery (highest capacity they do).
