8100 is fairly old (or the 2 i have here are).

there was a problem with the backlights failing and Toshiba did have a swap
out program in place, but i think that has finished now

have a hunt on the toshiba web site - try www.csd.toshiba.com if you dont
have a local country web site for them (eg www.toshiba.co.uk )
