I am not too sure what you mean by that. Pictures would have helped, trust
me. Perhaps you can put them on some Web space?

There are sometimes a few hidden options to tinker about. You can control,
for example, the width of docks and panels (to fix them on one screen) or
abstain from window placement where there is 'slicing' across the two
screens.

PS - When I worked on dual-head Windows 2000 there was actually some good
handling of dual-head, but it needed some user involvement to achieve.
