You could cut the pug up and push the pin out from the back (if you
think it might be of use) .. you can always fit a new plug to the PSU?

I looked at that on a friends old Tosh but was able to solder (it was
peened from the factory) the middle pin back, superglue the broken
plastic socket bits back together then brace that with thin formed
strip of steel and some epoxy resin. The finished job worked 100% and
was probably stronger than when it left the factory! ;-)

Or strip down the lappy, de-solder the faulty socket, resolder a short
'tail' to the mobo and fit an external femal socket. Not 'pretty' but
good enought to do the job and good value at 50p ;-)
