If, like me, you are flabbergasted at the price of the Canon BU-20
Bluetooth USB dongle that can give bluetooth connectivity to certain
PIXMA printers, then read on.
I find it astonishing that the cheapest I can find one in the UK is
for £39.99 plus delivery (and unsurprisingly enough, the same thing on
sale in the US for $39.99).
On a whim I tried using the £7-odd Technika Bluetooth dongle available
from Tesco in the UK.
It worked perfectly in the PIXMA MP610.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work in the PIXMA MP830.
Your mileage may vary, as presumably different firmware in the
printers and slight differences in the Technika production runs may
make it not work for you - but it does look to be worth a try.
I feel Canon shouldn't be able to get away with product tying like
his, and charging such a huge premium for their own dongle.

In your first post you did not tell us what version of Windows you had, it could have been Home or Pro or even Media Centre and knowing the version of OS can sometimes make a lot of difference with regards the help that is needed. ... As far as I know you would need a Bluetooth Dongle to be able to use your phone with your computer I don't know if you can download the necessary drivers needed via the web, one of the experts would have to tell you that I haven't had the need to look. ...
