USB wifi recommendation

Can anyone suggest a USB wireless dongle that works without any faff? It's
for a machine with a comparatively old OS (Mepis 6 or 7, most likely 7) - I
don't want to either upgrade, or mess around with rebuilding the kernel,
importing driver firmware, etc.

Mepis 7 appears to be on a 2.6.22 kernel, while 6 is 2.6.15. It appears
that corresponds roughly to Debian etch and Ubuntu dapper respectively.

Other end of the link is 802.11b, so don't care about speed.

Something that doesn't cost a lot would be nice too :-)
(quite happy to buy on eBay, secondhand, etc)
