There are other types of self-extracting archive. I'm pretty sure rar
ones are common and that they can be extracted by unrar, and I think
some are compatible with cabextract. The "file" utility should tell you
if it's a SEA which Linux can read.
I think I've also had some inside a .cab file, which cabextract dealt
with quite easily.
