Done.

Out of interest, what complaint did you send?

Given that it appeared to be sent by me, but wasn't, AFAICT it's just
that the actual sender (Colin Brough) just edited it so that my name (in the
quoting) and his (as the sender) were inverted in the body text. Not
something I'm going to get hot under the collar about.

Or did I miss something else....

You missed something else!

On the virginmedia news server at least, and possibly propogating to
others, a spambot came along sometime after this thread (and others
posted in the group at about the same time) and posted a whole load of
guff - using the From:, To: and Subject: lines from existing posts. So
I and presumably Big and Blue and others had posts appear as if from
us, but not really.

For instance here is the complete header from one of the posts
purporting to be from me:

All of the messages seem to be posted from 80.192.11.216, which is a
virginmedia IP in the Edinburgh area. My IP is 77.100.210.221, and has
been for a while.

I've also reported to the virginmedia abuse folk internally - I'm a
customer.

Cheers

Colin
