I was looking for something that did/does both it would be great if it

want to see.
I do use binsearch and now google groups
Then I'm a bit baffled by your question. Google groups advanced search
is pretty good, and they allow you to filter out adult content.
I am fairly new to newsgroups well used to use them lots in the good old
days pre-microsoft windbows. Yes there was a time, but that was on dialup
and was using bbs software on an old dos 3.0 box when 16meg of memory was
ott and all I had was a novell server with 1gig HD, mind you most of the
pc's were 8086 and 286's, mine was the top of the range 386 !!
Still when you could only run bbs and none of this multiple gui's you
really had to get loads out of your computer. Without hogging memory.
I mean a simple CD burner cost £1000 back then and only wrote x1 bring
back DOS then let these Micro$oft windows users know how good it is to
write your own menu system in bat files to run all the software on your
huge 10meg HD with 5 1/4" floppies, anyone remember the 9" disc's, we had
one in an original displaywriter - as large as a dining table and could
only do wordprocessing!!
This was when Linux had less than 100 users.
The fastest modems ran was 9600 if you were lucky.
