Now, it's slrn and Mail.App... oh, and XChat.

I tend to try and keep away from proprietary apps anyhow, having lost
more data to them than I care to remember, mostly due to platforms
dying on me, e.g. Acorn, Commodore.

I also wasn't keen on the way that apple's stuff insists that you do
everything their way, I can't wait to get shot of iTunes for example,
the only apple app I still use.

So, while I'm mostly using it for no more than I was using the old
ThinkPad for, and the ThinkPad was doing fine, there are one or two
things I'm finding useful, but, to be honest, I'd rather be running
Debian, it "fits better".

I found that my mac mini was much happier once I'd removed Mac OS,
it's a dreadful resource hog, even worse than Windows XP, and I'm no
fan of that either! The much bragged about ease of use isn't there
either.

These days I'm running a Thinkpad z61p, so far a good laptop although
the hard disc died within 2 weeks of getting it! The only irritation
is that you need to set everything up yourself with linux, it won't
just use all the hardware straight out of the box, although you can
buy pre-installed linux as long as you're prepared to put up with
their given distro.
