Just logged into my account today to find that Barclays online intend to
support and guarantee to work with only certain browsers and operating
systems. Linux is not listed.
If mine stops working then I'll ask them whether they want to keep me as
a customer as I do most of my banking on-line. Sadly, we're probably
still a small minority, although they do now support Firefox, which is a
an improvement over early bank websites that only supported IE "for
security reasons".
I vaguely heard something this morning on the radio (today program
before 7am but I can't give a better time than that) about Barclays
sending "card readers to scramble your pin" to make online banking
more secure.
Presumably, whatever they're doing will require a driver that will
only be provided for vista and OSX. :-(
bank/card security information that you never need on your computer
isn't it?
