They've all had some pretty serious bugs making them at
best painful to use.

I've heard good things about Draytek's Vigor range, I might go for one
myself. Pricey though but supposedly not half-made like the consumer
ones.

I've got a Vigor 2600vg.

I've used them for many years - installed a lot over that time, but
you know what? I'm not that happy with them now. A few years ago,
when anything over 1Mb was almost impossible to get, but nowadays it's
commonplance and I fear the Draytek range just hasn't kept up. The VPN
in the ones I've used (2600, 2900 and 2800's) seems limited to about
1.5Mb/sec, and that's just no-good with modern high-speed lines. The Wi-Fi
on my 2600 doesn't seem too good either. I get better results from a 4-year
old 802.11b unit I have.

I feel that they've tried to put just too much into one unit when the
hardware is barely up to it, but maybe it's just me!

When my line was upgraded to ADSLmax, I went for a Vigor 2800G, having
always heard good things about Vigor. Unfortunately, the ADSLmax performance
leaves a lot to be desired. Many retrains, occasional reboots. Mine is
better that it used to be, but I expect I will replace it with something
else sometime soon.

The Wireless also has some deficiencies - there are compatibility problems
with Wifi clients based on Intel chipsets unless you get the latest (v10)
driver for the client (for Windows).

If you look at the forums on www.draytek.co.uk you can read all sorts of
horror stories with the 2800 series!

Cheers
