I've just setup Templar Shell Services UK at http://templarshells.mine.nu
to provide FREE Linux Shell Accounts to the public. The Shell Accounts
include 50 megs of space for Webhosting, SQL Database Hosting, as well
as IRC Bo Hosting.
Running a shell server is risky:
ping -f -s 8000 192.168.1.1
Only if he gives the users root access:
-f Flood ping. For every ECHO_REQUEST sent a period . is printed,
while for every ECHO_REPLY received a backspace is printed.
This provides a rapid display of how many packets are being dropped.
If interval is not given, it sets interval to zero and outputs
packets as fast as they come back or one hundred times per second,
whichever is more. *Only the super-user may use this option with
zero interval.*
(my emphasis on last sentence - the interval is limited to 0.2 seconds
for non-root)
