What does the "file" command tell you?
ASCII English text, with escape sequences
0h - that's useful :-)
My thoughts too!
Though what, exactly, those escape sequences are, I don't know. I know
they draw some boxes, change font size for a certain part, make other
bits bold.
This app must be speaking *something* the printer understands for the
printer to output the boxes etc as expected. Any ideas where I might
look for info on interpreting this? Getting a PDF out of that data is
what I really want to do, anything that points me that way will be a
great help.
Well I'm not sure but those escape sequences look similar (but not the same,
alas!) to those we used to send to DEC terminals (VT100, VT220, etc).
Maybe the printer behaves in a similar way to a terminal - just guessing.
I'm not convinced. The software isn't able to display an invoice, you
can access what's on the invoice but the paper document is generated by
filling the blanks in on a report on it's way to the printer, IYSWIM.
