Hi
If I use a xubuntu 6.10 cd to do the initial install, can I then
effectively make it kubuntu by adding / going to an appropriate
repository and doing a net install of kde?
not quite..
Would I then need to do something to make kde the default instead of xfce?
yes..
Or would I be better off starting with ubuntu server and adding kde to that?
I'd start with a desktop version, but YMMV.
Once you have xubuntu installed, just "sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop"
optionally followed by "sudo aptitude remove xfce-desktop"
