Hi,
Anyone know if these beasts are worth the tenner or are they tied in
(somehow) to the Tevion service so I can't use them on Skype?
I've not had the chance to handle one, but seen through plastic in a
crowded shop display, it looks like a cheap USB mike/speaker in a handset
shape plus some software. If that's so then you could throw the software
away and use the handset as audio I/O for whichever softphone you prefer
(even Skype :)).
OTOH you can also get those pseudo-handsets for a tenner elsewhere
("C-Set" is how hotplug detects my own rather low-quality one) so don't
fret if they all sell out.
If the Aldi one is a proper IPphone then I'd like to know too ! If I
had a tenner to spare I'd buy one just to check the sound quality,
and set it up for the kids if it proves to be like what I've already got.
