There are three different ADSL product offerings.

The most popular is an allowance based service which provides ADSL at the
maximum speed possible on the line (based upon standard ADSL) with a peak
usage allowance of at least 30GB/month and an off peak allowance of
300GB/month. There are higher allowances available.

The second option is a MAX PAYG service where you also get your adsl line
at the maximum speed possible but with only a 1GB included bandwidth
allowance. Bandwidth used beyond this is metered. It's quite a good option
for those who know they wont be using a lot of bandwidth.

Neither of these two services is capped. You can use as much as you want
but you will get an excess usage bill.

The third option is for traditional flat rate ADSL service with no usage
limits. With this you get ADSL at whatever speed you want (or can get)
from 512K to 2Mb and you pay a flat monthly fee.

Most of our users have opted for the 1st offering as it does include a lot
of usage allowance. We don't mandate it however.

We're about to take part in the next stage of the BT MAX ADSL trials
(speeds up to 8Mb/s although that's really only 7150Kb/s and it's rate
adaptive which means most people will be able to get about 5Mb/s). I'm
expecting news shortly on reviewed bandwidth allowances in light of this.
