My adsl config is generated by the latest speedtouch-1.3.1.
Assuming Zen use BT for adsl can you log onto their test logon -
user = bt_test@startup_domain and empty password ?
Har har. When I get the bloody adsl usb modem working, I'll let you know. On Friday, I though, "well, I'll just get the dialup going...".
The modem? I've asked on the Zen support forum:
When I plug this in to my Slackware linux box(es); both light go
immediately sold green. OK, so I expect the USB one to go green, but
not the ADSL (especially when the phone cable isn't connected).
Is this normal?
Note my linux box isn't doing anything to the modem at this point;
all I get is a log message:
Jul 26 11:36:15 delillo kernel: usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x6b9/0x4061) is not claimed by any active driver.
Also, ignoring the lights, when using modem_run (1.3.1 from the
speedtouch s/w from sourceforge) to u/l the thompson microcode seems
to just give up. An older version (1.2 beta, or similar) at least
tried (and failed) to upload the microcode.
Note that if I ignore the lights and the (failed) modem_run and start
pppd anyway, it seems to establish a connection with the modem at
least.
I just found a spare windows box at work I could play with; the modem lights behave sensibly when plugged into that: USB green, ADSL flashing.

Ahh I thought you could get sync etc already, I know nothing about usb/speedtouch but do do my own ppp for my PCI modem.
One longshot for the dialup - if you are withholding your phone number try releasing it.
