Mate, I'd suggest changing the default password...

What conor is saying is that it comes with a password, and any data
you send from your computer to the router is encrypted - so nobody
else can connect to the router (and use your internet connection), and
nobody else can see the data you send to your router (like passwords
for websites etc.).


However, on your current setup this is all done using the password
that BT set by default - these "default" passwords are easy to guess
or are easily available online (search for "default password bt home
hub"). So you should really change the default password - information
on how to do this is easily available online.


In reality, it's likely nobody will be hacking your connection, and
without knowing the password it's not really possible... but i'd
change to the non-default one anyway.
