Character Map either doesn't have some of the symbols or puts the
wrong symbol into Eudora or WordPad etc.

In programs like "Word" you can use Symbol font which has Greek
characters;
Egs Q = θ
P = π
Alternatively use a Unicode font such as the standard Palatino Linotype
to get things like;
Μῆνιν ἄειδε θεὰ Πηληϊάδεω Ἀχιλῆος
οὐλομένην, ἣ μυρί᾿ Ἀχαιοῖς ἄλγε᾿ ἔθηκε,
πολλὰς δ᾿ ἰφθίμους ψυχὰς Ἄϊδι προΐαψεν
ἡρώων,
There's also Alt + NumPad which will probably have them somewhere.
