Motherboard gone

Motherboard gone for second time, first time was just before warranty ran
out, but this ended with the PC back to as supplied state. Think the makers
engineer might have arrived on a horse and wearing large hat and boots.
Anyway a got a good proffesional to get things back for me, but not cheap.
The same good firm have told me the motherboards used are cheap ones and can
fail in thier experience have had several.
The replacement with them is going to be £240, not asked yet how much better
the new would be.
It a lot of money I feel and initial reaction is put this money towards a
new one.

Your advise would be appreciated.
