HI,

OK folks - thanks for the interest. I upgraded my HDD recently so I
will fit my old 60GB to his machine, do a reformat and reload XP. I
should have said that he has very little loaded on the machine, just a
browser and a photo editing program. As the problem came on over a
relatively short period, I don't think it is caused by low resources
although I could do a defrag so as to let the swap file breath.

Thanks - Joe

He needs more ram, end of story.

XP runs fine on 256, even 128 its ok. RAM is not his problem.
