Just got a Samsung 19" w/s monitor SyncroMaster 940BW, dissapointed
with it. The letters I'm typing now are as if on an old ink
typewriter all different blackness.

I have been useing a LG 19" normal L1950S which is OK with its
letters.
I'm not expert but think I got all settings ok.
Is there different technology here in these new monitors?
Is this Samsung a cheapo or maybe faulty, any helpfull coments
welcome.

Are you sure that your display (in Windows) is set to its native
resolution, 1024x768 usually for LCDs up to 15" for instance, it'll be
higher for you. Your monitor goes up to 1440x900, an odd figure because
it is in 16/10 rather than the usual 4/3 (640x480, 800x600, 1024x768
etc). So give other resolutions a try, if no better (or even if) try the
Cleartype thingy in Windows Control Panel.
