When I try to shut down my computer (Windows XP OS) I sometimes get
the message "dwwin.exeDLL initialisation failed" and "Application
failed to initialise because the window station is shutting down".
Its not a problem as I just click the message off, and it does shut
down. But its a bit of a nuisance; does it matter?
DWWIN.EXE is an MS tool called Dr Watson and is used for debugging
program
errors. There's a long story behind the name and it's been in
Windows since
at least version 3.1. More details
athttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Watson_%28debugger%29for a start.
To get rid of the message you can disable Dr Watson by following the
instructions

Thanks for your answer. Now I know what the dw stands for.
As a general rule when confronted with a file I don't recognise I
right-click onit (find it first) then properties/summary which sometimes
gives some clues to the editor and/or the purpose of the file, or I type
it into Google for information. That usually gives me enough information
to know whether it is a goody, a baddy or just darn useless.
