When data files are burnt onto a CD, (such as .doc files), is any
other data put on the CD as well
which would make it possible to identify the PC or burner that did it?

Generally no, but remember that documents created with Microsoft Office
applications contain an embedded GUID (Globally Unique IDentifier) that
identify any and all machines the file was created or modified on. It was
possible to disable the GUID on older versions of Office, but not on any
version since XP.
