What all-in-one package would you recommend then?
Why all in one? I use AVG, Spybot search & destroy, Firefox with the adblock
plug in and Sygate personal firewall. All are free and all except Sygate are
updated regularly. Sygate was bought out by Symantec and discontinued but I
still have the installers for 5.5 and 5.6. I'd be tempted to put them on my
website but I don't fancy having Symantec's lawyers after me for copyright
infringement.
With things like security software it's better to get a small app that does
one thing well and can be replaced easily. The Norton stuff is massive
bloatware that doesn't do anything very well. The fact that you're having to
ditch the whole lot and buy a new version just because Symantec wants to
make some more cash should be a warning.
