Does it not show at all in disk management? Usually it will be sitting
there waiting to be partitioned and formatted.
It usually has to be intialised as well if it has no pre-existing partition
table (i.e. virgin disk). The give away is the disk appearing in the disk
manager with what looks like a tiny 'no entry' symbol next to it.
