Yes, I now have conclusive proof of my chump status....

Instead of waiting to see the instruction to hit DEL, I started bashing away
at it instantly, and it works every time.

Don't worry! I had the misfortune to need access to the BIOS on three
PCs with PCchips MBs using SiS730 chipsets - no matter what, the
success rate is around 1 in 10 attempts. Just keep rebooting and you
will eventually get in! I never did work out whether it was better to
repeatedly press DEL or use the keyboard repeat function!
