I'm back on line with a different mouse. The other one is completely
dead. Everything seems to be working as normal.
Good, good. I still can't see how the mouse owuld block things though,
some USB business I suspect
Only problem I have is that my spare is a Belkin wireless keyboard and
mouse. The keyboard is ok but the mouse is crap. Eats batteries too.
I used to be on a cable mouse until a friend gave me a wireless a little
more than a year ago. I must say I appreciate it a) because my cruddy mous
mat doesn't bother it one bit, and b) because it slots on to a stand to
recharge. Effectively, I've seen others that run on batteries and I'm glad
I don't have one. Not only are they eaten quickly as you say but there is
also the thing about reconnecting when you change them, I know two people
who have been completely stumped on that score.
My wife's work PC has a crappy Trust mouse that is rechargeable - if the
batteries die it's a pig to get going again. I've used a Microsoft wireless
optical mouse for a couple of years and can't fault it, if the batteries are
low (about 6 months use) a warning window comes up - change the batteries
and carry on - no need to reset anything.
