Re: Network passwords

Just had another similar problem. Another network I am responsible for in
the local radion station is showing a similar problem. One of the four wired
computers is now asking for a password although none have been setup, whilst
the computer is showing under the network group it does ask for a password
although one was never setup!
Again , any ideas?
Thanks

I am running a computer network with 3 pc's 2 of which are wired to the
router and the third is a wireless connection to the router, this pc also
has a printer which is shared with the other two.

No passwords have been set up for accessing the workgroup but I have
found
over the last 3 days that trying to access the Wireless connected pc from
the other two results in a password request which I clearly cant provide
as
no password has been set up. I can still access that pc directly from its
keyboard with no request for a password.

Any ideas what I can do to access the wirelessed computer from the other
two
machines? I am the only user on all 3 machines each set up as
administrator
with no password. I am running windows XP Pro on all 3 machines.
I have no idea what has suddenly caused this to happen!
Any ideas?

If they want passwords, give them passwords. Set up accounts on all the
machines with identical usernames and passwords (you could use the
administrator account for this). Leaving passwords blank can sometimes
cause
strange problems, as can having 2 machines with the same username but
different passwords.
