1. I'm not using Yahoo Toolbar, but I do have Yahoo Messenger installed.1 Unlikely to be either of those.
Could that be the problem. I'm using Google toolbar btw.
2. OK, I'll uninstall the Spyware, but which one shall I try first ? Do I
only need to use one anyway ? In the light of what you've said, maybe I'll
uninstall Spyware Doctor !
3. 512mg Memory. Intend to upgrade to 1 gig, but haven't got round to it
yet, and ab it worried about the warranty if I open the box. Haven't
noticed much hard disc noise.
2 Uninstall them all, then try IE for a while. If no problems I
would reinstall Spyware Doctor first, since it costs real money. If no
problems add the others. Resources are not a problem because.....
3 512meg is plenty.
It is common practice to have more than one spyware program installed,
and should not cause these problems if left at default settings.
(Don't try multiple Antivirus programs or Software Firewalls, however)
If after uninstalling Spyware programs, you still experience the IE
crashes, try:
1 Reinstall IE6. If you still get problems,
2 Install Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/ and use it as your
browser for a while. If this operates problem free, then your IE
settings are at fault. If not, alas we need to look elsewhere, and you
may end up having to reinstall Windows.
Thanks John
