USB to firewire conversion

I've got a windows XP laptop with only a small firewire socket spare - I'd
like to connect a mouse with a usb connector to this socket - is it possible
to get hold of an adaptor or very short cable to do this? Alternatively can
I get a laptop mouse with a firewire connector? I know an alternative is to
get a (powered) USB hub to provide more USB sockets but I'm carrying around
enough as it is!

Thanks for reading.
