Open the .ram file in Notepad - it will be one line long, and the line is a
URL. Copy the URL from there. Use XiSoft NetTransport 2 (Free!) and put in
that URL from inside the .ram file. 30min Radio 4 programmes take about 4/5
mins to download on my 1meg broadband.
rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/radio4/history/inourtime/inourtime_20020613.ra is the
link to your example above - put that into NetTransport and it will download
the whole .ra file for you to listen to offline.
Net Transport link: http://www.xi-soft.com/default.htm
The reason you need to use software like this, rather than just IE, is
because of the rtsp protocol. Be aware that Net Transport can get a bit
posessive and try to take over all your downloads, but it can be configured
to stop that!!
Hope that helps,
D.
