Hi,
Thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunately none of them have worked.
I'm not a real techie, but I think the problem is that the CD Rom isn't
being read properly, for some reason.
As far as I can remember, I didn't have any problems with the CD Rom before
the crash, but when trying Jeff's suggestions it won't recognise the CD ROm,
as if there was no driver. When trying Dav's way, it was easy to set the CD
Rom as the main boot in the BIOS, but it then booted as if the CD Rom waas
empty.
Any ideas??
I'm close to thorwing it out (in reality keeping for spares) and buying a
new one from my local 'second user' joint, because performing this simplest
of tasks is so difficult :-(
