Scan to printer

Can anyone point me to a piece of software that will allow a lap top, running XP to scan and print direct to a printer?

My wife bought this set up for the scout group so they can gain an IT badge.
Acer lap top, running XP home
Genius color (sic) page- Vivid 1200xe
Cannon colour printer.
Both scanner and printer are USB devices.

I know that I have some software, somewhere, but it would take me ages to go through more than 70 PC Utilities CDs to find what I am looking for.

Can anyone point me to a download site please?
