OT - Incrementing photos in Canon camera...

I have had to replace a Canon camera with an identical model (Powershot
A650).

However, one problem I have is that the image numbering sequence is reset
back to IMG_0001 as the first photo. I would like to change this to start
recording from the last number in the previous camera, IMG_5205.

Is there any way to do this, short of shooting 5000 odd photos and
discarding them?
