Can you not get into 'Safe Mode' and remove the driver?
Sorry if I'm being naive.

Hi all
I updated two lots of Nvidias driver yesterday - the vga installed
okay (it came back up okay after the reboot) and then I did the Nforce
drivers, but after rebooting the screen was black when I should have
got the login screen. The XP loading screen was there but just as the
login screen should have appeared the screen went black. The keyboard
wasn't working - when I turned NUMLOCK on/off the light didn't change.
I started in safe mode and I saw the login screen but the keyboard and
mouse were dead (they're both PS/2). It hasn't frozen up as the screen
saver kicks in after a few minutes but I can't get any mouse or
keyboard to work (USB, PS/2 or serial). In normal mode the hard drive
light is going so I think it is running but I just can't see or
interact with it!
I thought I'd do a repair install so I booted from the CD and the
repair option wasn't there - it doesn't recognise the XP install (even
though it boots okay and only fails at the end, after loading). I
tried disabling the Nvidia service from the recovery console but that
hasn't helped. If I could get the mouse or keyboard working I could at
least log in and do something. How can I get them working again, or
how can I get a repair install option? I tried using bootcfg/fixboot
and fixmbr in the repair console but with no luck. Help!
TIA.
Iain
